Saint Euphemia Orthodox Mission
History
Saint Euphemia Orthodox Chapel was founded in 2020 as an Orthodox community whose mission was to serve the residents of Knox County, Maine under the omophorion of Bishop John of the Antiochian Orthodox Diocese of New England. In December of 2022, Bishop John sent a full-time resident priest, Fr. Justin Slaughter Doty, to take care of the mission and begin laboring towards founding a parish in Knox County, Maine.

Our prayer is to serve all those in Knox County who desire to become Orthodox or who already are Orthodox and need a parish home. We welcome any Christians, Inquirers, Seekers, or people from any backgrounds whatsoever to see and discover the Ancient, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith of the Orthodox and Catholic Church.

Our small congregation is made up of a diverse group of Orthodox Christians, Catechumens and Seekers of all different backgrounds. Some of us were born into the Orthodox faith and many others have converted to Holy Orthodoxy after having previously been Protestant, Roman Catholic, Non-Denominational, Non-Religious or even of religious confessions from the east.
